The use of Google applications in my classroom makes organizing and sharing lessons very efficient. In addition, students have utilized them in coordinating projects and other activities.
Google Classroom
Allows you to post announcements and assignments to selected classes, and it seamlessly integrates Google Drive. The mulitude of steps that were once required for students to access documents, make copies, title, and re-share have now combined into one space.
Google Forms
Google forms can be created by teachers and students to poll others and gather data. Now that I’ve implemented market research in some of my projects, I have students use this app to gather information from their peers, family, or the community. What I love about this app is the summary of responses, which automatically shows graphs of the data. Students practice analyzing raw data with the graphs, and these skills translate during lab investigations.
Google Sites
In addition to maintaining a teacher website (where lessons and assignments are uploaded), students can use Google Sites to create websites for projects or building their digital portfolio.
